トランシルヴァニア舞曲
この曲は、ハンガリー出身の作曲家「バルトーク」によって1915年に〔ソナチネ〕というタイトルでピアノ曲として作曲されました。1931年に自身の手によって管弦楽版が作られ、その際タイトルを〔トランシルヴァニア舞曲〕と改名しました。
曲は、ハンガリー王朝領内の民族音楽が引用されて、全部で３つの楽章で構成されています。
ピアノ作品の際にはそれぞれ「バグパイプ吹き」「熊踊り」「終曲」という楽章のタイトルがそれぞれ付いていましたが、管弦楽版を制作した際にこの楽章ごとのタイトルは削除されました。
しかし、このアレンジでは管弦楽とピアノ版の両方を使って制作されたこともあり、あえて楽章ごとのタイトルをそのまま用いています。
Transylvanian Dances has it origins in Bartok’s Sonatina for Piano, composed in 1915.
The music is heavily influenced by traditional folksong from the region, using material from five as the basis for extensive arrangement and original composition.
In 1931, Bartok adapted the piano score for orchestra, abandoning the original movement titles from the Sonatina in favour of simple tempo indicators.
This arrangement, set for woodwind octet, returns the subtitles of the three movements fr om the original, “Bagpiper”, “Bear Dance” and “Finale”.
The arranger uses material from both the piano and orchestra scores to create a new version that features the best musical elements from each.
