「抒情小曲集」より
この曲は、ノルウェーの作曲家「グリーグ」によって作曲されました。全10集、66曲で構成されているピアノ曲集です。作曲家としての殆どの期間をかけて作曲され続けられたこれらの作品は、とても繊細で叙情的な旋律とハーモニーを持ちます。またグリーグ本人によって管弦楽にも編曲されています。このアレンジは、多くの作品の中から「第8集2曲 農民の歌」「第1集4曲 妖精の踊り」「第5集3曲 小人の行進」を組曲として再構成したものです。それぞれ特徴的な曲想を楽しみながら演奏してください。
Throughout his lifetime, Edvard Grieg contributed to a collection of short pieces for piano, known collectively as Lyric Pieces.
Eventually, the collection grew to ten volumes, containing 66 compositions, each featuring delicate and lyrical melodies and harmonies.
Greig also arran ged an orchestral suite from this material.
I have taken three selections from the Lyric Suite and arranged them for saxophone quartet.
[Pesant Songs No. 2 from Vol. 8], [Fairy Dance No.4 from Vol.1], and [March of the Dwarfs No.3 from Vol.5] are combined to m ake a most satisfying representation of Greig’s works, each wit h a characteristic and unique melodic feel.
