ニューヨークのロマンス

この作品は2007年11月に完成、2008年3月に神奈川県立二宮高校吹奏楽部の演奏、高橋充氏の指揮によって初演されました。

今作品のタイトルは何かを題材にしたのではなく、『ニューヨーク』、『ロマンス』という2つの言葉から得た印象から構想を練り、書き上げました。また私自身が今まで使わなかった旋律、ハーモニー、楽想を多用した事も、この作品の特徴となっていると思います。

冒頭に出てくるテーマが軸となり曲は進み、その後ニューヨークの朝のラッシュを思わせるような早部に入ります。ホイッスルやラットル、そして軽快な旋律が盛り上げ徐々にテンションを増して強烈な8分音符によって後半へ移ります。都市の騒音の中から徐々にワルツのテンポが聴こえ出しメインとなるテーマがこのテンポによって再現され曲は最高潮に盛り上がり大円舞となり幕を閉じます。

聴いて頂ける皆様、そして演奏して頂ける皆様がこの作品で少しでも『幸せ』を感じて頂ける事が私にとっての最大の願いです。(清水大輔)

清水大輔(Daisuke Shimizu)

1980年、神奈川県生まれ。2002年に昭和音楽大学短期大学部を卒業。作曲を藤原嘉文氏に師事。

サクソフォーン奏者・福本信太郎氏のための書き下ろし作品をはじめ、航空自衛隊中部航空音楽隊、陸上自衛隊東部方面・中部方面・第2・第4・第6・第8各音楽隊、海上自衛隊東京・横須賀・舞鶴・呉・佐世保各音楽隊、ヤマハ吹奏楽団浜松、なにわ《オーケストラル》ウィンズ、大阪市音楽団（現 Osaka Shion Wind Orchestra）、日生劇場、シエナ・ウィンドオーケストラなど、多くの団体から委嘱を受けている。

アメリカ・シカゴで行われる「ミッドウェスト・クリニック」やWASBE（世界吹奏楽協会）をはじめ、アメリカ、ヨーロッパで自作品が演奏されている。近年ではアジア諸国でも自作品演奏会の指揮や初演を行う。また、これまでに自作品集5枚を全国発売している。

ROMANCE OF NEW YORK：Composer: Daisuke SHIMIZU

The title of this piece is not inspired by any particular subject but by the impression I got from the words "New York" and "romance." The piece is also unique for its incorporation of many melodies, harmonies, and musical ideas that I have not used before.

The main theme appears in the opening of the piece as it unfolds and brings us to a scene that is reminiscent of the morning rush in New York City. Whistles, rattles, and lively melodies contribute to the gradually rising tension and lead into the piece's second half through a series of powerful eighth notes. The tempo of the waltz gradually becomes more audible against the backdrop of the urban noise, with the main theme then being reproduced at the same tempo to bring the piece to its climax before closing with a brilliant waltz.

My greatest wish is for everyone who listens to this piece and everyone who performs it to experience some happiness through it.
