歌詞は、日本基督教団讃美歌委員会の表記に従っています。カタカナ表記の部分は、読み方と歌い方では違いが出てくると思いますので、どのように歌われるかは合唱指揮者の判断に委ねたいと思います。

演奏に際しては、合唱と伴奏とのバランスが何より重要です。スコアに書かれた強弱記号も場合によっては加減が必要かと思われますので、指揮者の判断で行なって下さい。

なお吹奏楽のみによる演奏の場合、リピートは省略した方が冗長にならず、むしろ効果的です。和声もオーケストレーションも奇を衒（てら）ったものではありませんが、クリスマス・ソング・メドレーの定番として皆様に愛されることを望みます。

Sugiura’s setting of seven well known Christmas carols was written to be performed by wind band with or without a choir, making it a valuable addition to the repertoire for wind band. The choir parts are mostly unison and keys have been carefully chosen to best suit singing. Thus, preparation time is short and performances most effective.

Performers must pay special attention to balance and blend when presenting with choir and band. Conductors should feel free to alter dynamics in the band parts to ensure the vocal part is always prominent. Multiple repeats are included in the score to allow repeated verses when a choir is included.These may be eliminated when there are no singers.
