はじまりの場所

作品の出版に際し、2019年6月1日に開催された昭和ウインド・シンフォニー第20回定期演奏会で再演された際、指揮者のユージーン M.コーポロン（ノーステキサス大学教授）氏から「日本語からイメージできるタイトルの方がよい」とのご提案をいただき、コーポロン氏自らが命名してくださった英題を採用することとしました。

曲は、繰り返されるドラムマーチで奏者の入場を演出し、指揮者の合図とともに煌びやかなファンファーレではじまります。その後荘厳な旋律で祝祭を描くように構成し、頻繁に転調しながら音楽が徐々に高揚していき、最高潮に盛り上がって演奏会の幕開けを告げます。

祝典、祭典や演奏会のオープニングを飾る楽曲として、厳かで華やかな印象を与えるでしょう。

清水大輔(Daisuke Shimizu)

1980年、神奈川県生まれ。2002年に昭和音楽大学短期大学部を卒業。作曲を藤原嘉文氏に師事。

サクソフォーン奏者の福本信太郎氏のための書き下ろし作品をはじめ、航空自衛隊中部航空音楽隊、陸上自衛隊東部方面音楽隊、陸上自衛隊第6 音楽隊、海上自衛隊横須賀音楽隊、海上自衛隊舞鶴音楽隊、ヤマハ吹奏楽団浜松、なにわ《オーケストラル》ウィンズ、大阪市音楽団、日生劇場、シエナ・ウィンドオーケストラ（編曲）など委嘱作品も多数。

2008年にはアメリカのシカゴで行われた『ミッドウェスト・クリニック』において自作品が演奏されるなど、日本だけでなく、海外の出版社からも注目を集め、CD や楽譜が発売されて好評を得ている。また今までに自作品集も4 枚を数え全国発売されている。

THE PLACE OF THE BEGINNING：Composer: Daisuke SHIMIZU

This five minute piece was commissioned as a commemorative work for the 65th anniversary of the Sasebo District of the Maritime Self‐Defense Force in 2018, and was first played in April of the same year by the Sasebo District band.

It was made with the aim of drawing expectation and driving imagination toward the concerts it precedes.

During the publication of the piece, when it was played during the 20th regular concert of the Showa Window Symphony held on June 1, 2019, the conductor, Eugene M. Corporon (a professor that the University of North Texas) suggested that a title that was reminiscent of Japan would be better; the final English title became the one he himself suggested.

The music accompanies the entrance of the players with repeated drum marches, and along with the directions of the conductor, begins a radiant fanfare. It follows with a festive, dignified melody, with frequent modulations as the music gradually picks up its pace, until it reaches its climax and signifies the beginning of the concert.

It will bring a dignified and opulent atmosphere to the opening of any celebration, festival, or concert.
