あやつり人形の葬送行進曲

この曲は、19世紀フランスの作曲家シャルル・グノーにより作曲されたピアノ曲です。

近年ではヒッチコック監督が手がけたアメリカのテレビ番組「Alfred Hitchcock Presents」のテーマ曲として使用され、世界的に知られることになりました。

日本でも同番組が放送された他、テレビCMのBGMとしても多く使用され、曲名は知らなくても曲は知っている人多いことでしょう。

このアレンジはシンフォニックなオーケストレーションですが、個々が活躍する室内楽的な箇所が多々あります。

一部楽器が無くても他の楽器で代用できるよう配慮がしてありますのでご利用ください。

Originally the work was intended to be part of a larger suite critical of a music critic Gounod had an ongoing battle with, but he never finished it, choosing to let the march stand alone.

Eventually, Gounod chose to abandon the critical theme, creating a narrative about a poor, broken marionette instead.

In 1879, he orchestrated it for small wind band, including editorial notes to tell the tale of the puppet.

The piece found notoriety as the theme for the "Alfred Hitchcock Presents” television program in the 1960s in the United State s.

The program was eventually broadcast in Japan and the music became known then and later, as music in commercials.

This orchestration for full symphonic band incorporates many solos, with cues to allow the conductor to alter the piece as needed.
