この曲は、歌劇「トゥーランドット」の中の有名なアリアでプッチーニによって作曲されました。このアリアは歌劇以外でも独立して演奏される機会が多く、クラシック界の三大テノールによって歌われたことで有名となりました。
元々は男性テノール歌手が歌う曲ですが、近年は女性アーティストによってもカバーされています。
このアレンジは、ソロトランペットと吹奏楽伴奏で書かれています。
原曲にとらわれる事はしていません。
編曲者自身のオリジナルの前奏に始まり、終盤には原曲にはないカデンツァを加えて、ソランペットのソロが魅力的になるように工夫しました。

Nessun Dorma (None shall sleep) is arguably the famous aria composed by Giacomo Puccini for the opera “Turandot”.
Always an audience favourite, this aria is often performed in concert alone by vocalists and perha ps is most well known as a com bined version first sung by the T hree Tenors, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti.
Although the original aria was written for a man, female artists sing it as well.
This arrangement is for a solo trumpet with wind band.
The piece begins with the original introduction, but the arranger freely adapts Puccini’s orchestration to create a fresh accompaniment for band, adding a cadenza for the soloist at the end.
This music demands perfo rmers play with the utmost expression to reach the true romantic character of the aria.
