クラリネット四重奏のための「フェニックス　I」

このカルテットは、東日本大震災からの復興を祈念して、クラリネット奏者、松浦千恵氏の委嘱により作曲され、2013年9月、クラリネットカルテット・マリオーロにより初演された。

クラシック音楽とポピュラー音楽の融合を目指した作品が、フェニックス・シリーズとなっている。

対位法的な書法や構成面はクラシック風に、ハーモニー、リズムやメロディラインはポピュラー風に描いている。

そこには、復興における、立場の異なる様々な人々が力を合わせていく姿を重ねている。

そして、フェニックス（不死鳥、火の鳥）の如く、崩壊した街は甦り、音楽は永遠に転生を繰り返す。

クラシックの構築性と同時にポピュラー的なセンスも必要になります。

冒頭のクラリネット・ソロは自由に。リズム面でしっかり縦を合わせることが大切です。表拍が休符のときも空気を緩めずにしっかり拍を掴みにいくこと。ベルトーンはタイミングよくしっかり音を鳴らすことなどが大切でしょう。

This quartet is part of my Phoenix Series, music that aims to create a fusion of classical and popular music.

The counterpoint writing and forms of these pieces are classical in design but the harmony, rhythm and melodic writing take their cues from popular music.

By combining two musical traditions, I hoped to portray different people working together in the reconstruction after the earthquake.

My hope is this music portrays the reincarnation of the collapsed city just like a magical phoenix arises from the ashes of its own destruction.

Play freely at the beginning solo part, but it is important the performers pay close attention to accurate rhythm and play together.

Even when the first note is the rest, players must have good air support and maintain a strong sense of rhythm.

Bell tones should be played with intense rhythm and full tone.

The players must be aware of the blending of classical and popular idioms and make them evident for the piece to be effective.
