12のエチュードより

フランスの作曲家ドビュッシーが晩年に書いたピアノのための練習曲集です。ショパンの影響を多大に受けたとも言われており、作品はショパンに献呈されています。

今回のアレンジはそんな練習曲の中から3曲を取り上げました。

「1.五本の指のための練習曲～ツェルニー氏による」はツェルニー氏に対するオマージュですが、皮肉もたっぷり含まれており、冗談音楽的な要素も含まれた面白い作品です。

「4.六度のための練習曲」は全体的に優しく穏やかな曲想、そして大変美しい旋律が印象的な作品です。

「12.和音のための練習曲」は、その名の通り和音が主体となって進んでいく作品です。

打楽器的に叩いて演奏する部分と柔らかく流れていく部分とに分かれ、その2面性がとても面白い作品です。

この曲では、途中2小節間どのパートも音が書いていない部分がありますが、そこは原曲を尊重してそのままにしています。

原曲はあくまでもピアノの為の練習曲ですが、今回アレンジするにあたっては1つの組曲として構成が出来る様に選曲をしました。

クラリネットで奏でられるドビュッシーの響きに、是非包み込まれてください。

Scholars say they owe a great debt to Chopin, who Debussy actually presented them to.

Arranger Hisashi Yoshino has selected three of the etudes and arranged them for clarinet quartet, closely following the composer’s original, with only minor changes to accommodate instrumentation.

The result is a wonderful addition of Debussy’s music to the chamber
music repertoire.
“Etude for 5 Fingers - Czerny" is filled with humorous material, creating an interesting piece for players and audience alike.

“Etude on the 6th” contrasts with a calm and beautiful melody featuring the i nterval in the title.

“Etude for Harmony” focuses on dense har monic language, as the title suggests, using two contrasting sections of percussive material and soft, flowing melodic material to ex plore extended, chromatic harmonies.
