組曲「動物園の情景」外伝　パンダの親子

2018年6月に催された「第37回 つの笛集団定期演奏会」で初演されました。パンダの親子が楽しそうに戯れている情景で、子パンダに該当するパートは悪戯っぽく軽妙に。親パンダのパートはどっしりと威厳をもって演奏してください。

この曲は、以前つの笛集団から委嘱されて作曲した『動物園の情景』の補足的な作品となります。『動物園の情景』と併せて演奏する場合は第3曲目『オランウータン』の次に挿入して演奏してください。（山田栄二）

In June 2017, a baby panda was born at Tokyo’s Ueno Zoo, and shortly afterwards I received a commission from the horn ensemble Tsunobue-Sh dan for a piece to celebrate the birth of this panda. The result is this piece “Mother and Child Panda” which was premiered at Tsunobue-Sh dan’s 37th Subscription Concert in June 2018.

The piece portrays the baby panda being playful with its mother. The baby panda’s part should be performed mischievously and light-heartedly and the mother panda’s part should be performed with gravity and authority.

This piece supplements my earlier work “Scenes from the Zoo” which was also a commission from Tsunobue-Sh dan. If it is to be performed together with “Scenes from the Zoo”, it should be placed after No.3 “Orangutan”.　(Eiji Yamada)
