華燭の灯るとき

21世紀の吹奏楽第16回「響宴」松戸市立第四中学校吹奏楽部演奏

この作品は、愛知県豊橋市にある桜丘学園吹奏楽部の第25回定期演奏会の記念委嘱作品として作曲され、2012年3月に同部（指揮：小笠原克徳）によって初演されました。私自身もこの部の卒業生なのですが、学校のすぐ近くを流れる朝倉川には、かつて蛍が舞っていたそうです。しかし、環境の汚染によって、その姿は次第に消えてしまいました。近年、この朝倉川流域の環境改善を目指す活動が行われており、「530（ゴミゼロ）運動」発祥の地でもある豊橋市が、再び蛍の灯りが舞う街になることを願い、この作品を作曲しました。タイトルにある「華燭」とは、華やかな灯火を意味します。曲中では、一つのモチーフが蛍の灯りとなって散りばめられ、儚く灯ったり消えたりしながら、その形をさまざまに変えていきます。そして、やがて華やかに現れるのです。（平岡聖）

平岡聖(Satoshi Hiraoka)

　1988 年生まれ、愛知県豊橋市出身。吹奏楽作品や室内楽作品、和太鼓のための作品や、よさこい鳴子踊りのための打ち込み作品など、東海地方を中心に、様々なジャンルの演奏家により作編曲作品が初演されている。主な作品として、「ハンガリー民謡の主題による変奏曲」（21 世紀の吹奏楽第13 回《響宴》　入選作品）、「華燭の灯るとき」（21 世紀の吹奏楽第16 回《響宴》入選作品）、金管八重奏のための「アマルガム」( マルティナショナルブラスアンサンブル第13 回演奏会委嘱作品) 等。第1 回洗足現代音楽作曲コンクールサクソフォーン・アンサンブル作品部門入選。

　愛知県立芸術大学音楽学部作曲科卒業。これまでに作曲を林義人、寺井尚行の各氏に師事。

21st Century Wind Music, 16th “Ky en” Performance by Matsudo Municipal Daiyon Junior High School Wind EnsembleThis piece was commissioned as a commemorative work for the 25th regular concert of the Sakuragaoka Gakuen Wind Ensemble in Toyohashi, Aichi. It was premiered in March 2012 under the direction of Katsunori Ogasawara.As an alumnus of this ensemble, I was inspired by the history of the Asakura River, which once had fireflies dancing along its banks. Due to environmental pollution, they disappeared over time. In recent years, efforts have been made to restore the environment of the Asakura River. With Toyohashi, the birthplace of the "530 (Zero Waste) Movement," striving to become a city where fireflies once again illuminate the night, I composed this piece with that wish in mind.The title "Kashoku" means "radiant lights," and throughout the piece, a recurring motif represents the flickering glow of fireflies. Their lights appear and fade, taking on different forms before finally emerging in a grand, brilliant display. (Satoshi Hiraoka)
