はじまりの時

曲はゆったりした序奏を伴ったソナタ形式として構想し、さらに、私自身が中学高校時代は吹奏楽と共に歩んだので、その時の印象を思い出しつつ、吹奏楽向きのフレーズや展開を取り入れた。特に具体的な場面や情景を音にした曲ではないが、何か昔を思い返しながらも、明るい未来に進むような感覚がする楽曲ではないかと思う。ぜひ、演奏者自身でオリジナルの物語を創造してもらえたら嬉しく思う。

ところで、作曲者は曲名をつけるのが大の苦手である。本曲の第一稿が完成した際に、菅野力氏に楽譜と、ソフト上で鳴らした音源をお送りし、失礼ながら何か曲名を名付けてくださいませんか、と丸投げをしてしまった。その結果「はじまりの時」という素晴らしい題名をつけて頂き、このことでも大変感謝している。

この曲との出会いが、演奏者そして聴衆の皆様にとって、素敵な何かの「はじまりの時」となりますように。（中島章博）

中島章博(Akihiro Nakajima)

早稲田大学理工学部、東京大学工学系研究科修士課程を経て同博士後期課程へ進学した後、2007年よりオーストリア共和国立ザルツブルク・モーツァルテウム大学指揮科に留学。2010年に帰国後、博士後期課程を修了し建築音響工学の分野で博士（工学）を取得。

これまでに日本はもとより、オーストリア、チェコ、リトアニア、エストニア、ブルガリア、ロシア、マレーシア等で各国のオーケストラを指揮する。また、TBSテレビ「マツコの知らない世界」にて奏者として加わったマツコ・デラックス氏との演奏や、お笑い芸人「メンバー」のオーケストラ演奏付きライブに出演するなど、他業界との共演も多い。

近年は作曲・編曲活動にも力を入れており、様々なメディアへの楽曲提供のほか、自作のオーケストラ作品も積極的に指揮している。

指揮を故クルト・レーデル、デニス・ラッセル・デイヴィス、ホルヘ・ロッター、曽我大介、シメオン・ピロンコフの各氏に、フルートを湯川和雄、岩佐和弘の両氏に師事。2021年度ズーラシアンブラスお友達プレイヤー（指揮）。

TIME OF INCUNABULA：Composer: Akihiro NAKAJIMA

This song was written in June 2024 based on a request from Chikara Sugano under the assumption that it would be performed as an encore during the Tokyo stop on the Chikara Sugano 10th Debut Anniversary Recital Tour. The inspiration behind the creation of this song came from a suggestion at the time that I received this request to make it possible to perform this piece using wind instruments later. In other words, I initially developed my ideas for this song like I was writing wind music and then actually created the flute and piano version as if I was creating a condensed score out of it.

I envisioned this song as a sonata with a slow introduction and looked back on my own memories of time spent with wind music during my middle school and high school years while writing this song, incorporating phrases and patterns that are suited for wind instruments. Although I did not express certain situations and scenes through music in this song, I believe that it gives you the feeling that you are advancing toward a bright future while still looking back on the past somewhat. I would be delighted if the performers could create their own original stories out of it, by all means.

By the way, the person who wrote this song has a very hard time coming up with song titles. After I completed the first draft of this song, I sent the score and a recording to Mr. Sugano and left him with the responsibility of coming up with the title, as rude as that may have been. However, he came up with the brilliant title of "Time of Incunabula," which I am also very grateful for.

I hope that every person who performs or listens to this song can embark on something wonderful as a result of finding this song.
