ぞめきファンタジア

曲は大きく急緩急の構成となっており、「祖谷の粉ひき唄」「阿波よしこの節」といった、阿波おどりに関係の深い民謡やお囃子をもとにしたフレーズを中心に進行していきます。
全体的に日本的なテイストで音楽を作っていますが、特に後半では「ぞめき」の独特なリズムや展開を盛り込み、阿波おどりらしい熱気の表現を目指しました。

なお、本作品は2020年に原典版を作曲し、第12回日本管打・吹奏楽学会作曲賞において佳作の評価をいただきました。

近藤礼隆(Noritaka Kondo)

1995年埼玉県東松山市生まれ、千葉県柏市育ち。渋谷教育学園幕張高等学校、東京藝術大学音楽学部音楽環境創造科を卒業。

作曲を植野洋美、西岡龍彦の各氏に、音楽理論を故・山口博史氏に師事。

これまでに、第33回朝日作曲賞入選（2024年度全日本吹奏楽コンクール課題曲採用）、第52回JBA「下谷賞」受賞、21世紀の吹奏楽 第22回“響宴”入選、第12回日本管打・吹奏楽学会作曲賞佳作。アニメーション映像やオーディオドラマなど、音楽を担当した作品も多数。

好きな作曲家は伊福部昭とスティーヴ・ライヒ。

FANTASY ON FOLK SONGS “ZOMEKI”：Composer: Noritaka KONDO

The Awa Dance Festival (Awa Odori) is one of the three major Obon dance festivals in Japan.

Many people are probably familiar with this summer festival held in midAugust each year, when the entire city of Tokushima is enveloped in a frenzy of excitement.

The Awa Dance Festival takes place amid musical accompaniment played with instruments such as gongs, shamisen, flutes, and drums, collectively known locally as "zomeki."

As each dance group called "ren" presents a different dance performance, originality and ingenuity can be observed in the phrasing and performance of "zomeki" alongside each "ren."

I was overwhelmed by the passion on display at the Awa Dance Festival when I watched it in person in the summer of 2019. At the same time, I was intrigued by the fascinating music of "zomeki," which led me to start writing a piece based on this experience.

This piece is roughly composed with a fastslowfast structure and is centered on phrases inspired by folk songs and musical accompaniments that are inextricable from the Awa Dance Festival, such as "Iya no KohikiUta" and the "Awa Yoshikono" chant.

Overall, the music has a Japanese style, but I have also incorporated the unique rhythms and developments of "zomeki," especially in the second half of the piece, to capture the passion of the Awa Dance Festival.

The original version of this piece was composed in 2020 and received an honorable mention at the 12th Japan Academic Society of Wind Music Composition Awards.

This score uses the version that was expanded and revised in 2023 for publication.
