ジョイフル・ジョイフル
この曲は、ベートーヴェンが作曲した交響曲第9番（第九）の終楽章の旋律を使った作品です。原曲は年末などにオーケストラで演奏されたり、合唱部分は別途独立して歌唱されています。またこの曲の旋律には別の詞が付けられ、讃美歌・聖歌「ジョイフル・ジョイフル」として教会などで歌われていました。その様子は映画「天使にラブソングを2」でも見られ、今ではゴスペルソングとして知られるようになりました。 このアレンジは、日本で行われた「一万人の第九」で演奏されたヴァージョンを基にしています。金管・木管・リズムセクションにそれぞれの見せ場があり、とても楽しく聞く事が出来ると思います。

JOYFUL JOYFUL
This piece is based on the hymn from the Finale of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. Traditionally, orchestras perform this symphony at the end of the year to celebrate the approaching new year. Pop musicians have adapted it over the years for all genres with the most well know version from the film “Sister Act 2”, starring Whoopie Goldberg. This rocking arrangement, patterned on one made famous by Japanese event “The Ninth of 10,000 People”, features a driving rhythm section, danceable rhythms and opportunities to feature every section of the band!
