木星 快楽をもたらすもの（組曲「惑星」より）

京都市立芸術大学トロンボーン専攻生 “THE BONES” の委嘱によって書かれたアレンジです。初演時はテナー6本とバス3本による九重奏でしたが、出版に際して八重奏に改めました。

トロンボーン・アンサンブルという編成を第一義に置いたうえで、概ね原曲に沿った展開で組み立てております（時折、火星が接近しているようですが）。

第4主題は非常に有名ですね。潤沢なオーケストレーションによって壮大に歌い上げられるこのシーン、今回は転調という手法を用いて、その再現を目指しました。この主題は作曲者自身によって管弦楽付きのコラールに編曲されており、愛国的な賛歌として今も広く歌われているそうです。

初演から100年以上が経過した現代においても（とても残念なことではありますが）強い強い平和への祈りとしてのありようを保っていると思います。

井澗昌樹(Masaki Itani)

大阪教育大学教養学科芸術専攻音楽コース卒業。同大学大学院芸術文化専攻修了。作曲を澤田博、北川文雄の両氏に師事。

主な作品に、バリトン独唱と管弦楽のためのカンタータ「倭建命 流離譚」、トランペット八重奏曲「四季の奏鳴」など。吹奏楽作品に、「火の断章」（2008年度全日本吹奏楽コンクール課題曲）、「Bye Bye Violet」、「愛の祭壇」など。

This arrangement was commissioned by “THE BONES,” the trombone majors at Kyoto City University of Arts. At its premiere, it was performed as a nonet for six tenor trombones and three bass trombones, but for publication, it has been revised as an octet.

While prioritizing the unique qualities of a trombone ensemble, the arrangement generally follows the development of the original piece (though occasionally it seems that Mars draws near!).

The fourth theme is especially wellknown. In the original, this scene is grandly sung with rich orchestration. In this arrangement, I aimed to recreate that grandeur by making use of modulation.

This theme was arranged by the original composer himself as a chorale with orchestra, and it is still widely sung today as a patriotic hymn.

Even more than a century after its premiere, I believe that―unfortunately―it continues to serve as a strong, fervent prayer for peace.
