トゥ・ディス・ハートビート・ゼア・イズ・ノー・エンド（終わりなき鼓動）

ミシシッピ州バンドマスターズ協会による委嘱作品です。

2005年8月末にアメリカ合衆国南東部を襲った大型ハリケーン「カトリーナ」への追悼作品として作曲され、作曲者の言葉を借りれば、この作品は「命を失った人々、命を救った人々、そして余波の中で忍耐を続ける人々へのオマージュ」です。

ティンパニの「ハートビート」、嵐の「激しさ」、楽観的な「決意の強さ」など、豊富な音楽的効果により、忘れられないコンサートになることでしょう。

In one form or another, Hurricane Katrina affected all our lives. In the fall of 2005, the Mississippi Bandmasters Association commissioned Richard Saucedo to write this work for wind band. In the words of the composer, this is “a tribute to those who lost their lives, to those who saved lives, and to those who continue to persevere in the aftermath...” A wealth of musical effectsfrom the timpani “heartbeat” to the fury of the storm to the sense of determined optimismall contribute to make this an unforgettable concert experience. Includes extensive percussion scoring as well as piano and optional harp.
