かごめ変奏曲

童謡「かごめかごめ」、単なるこどもの遊び歌だけではなく、呪いの歌詞、または外国の国旗ルーツなどまで、この童謡にまつわる逸話が存在します。この作品中においても、静かな雰囲気から、ワルツ、リズミックな動きをもつ場面があり、「かごめかごめ」のテーマが繰り返し変容されていきます。

tuttiの強奏による華やかな冒頭、続く提示部分は「こどもの遊び」の雰囲気で進みます。やがて打楽器のコミカルな動きの中で、モティーフは様々な楽器により奏され、楽しい「祭り」の場面で盛り上がりをみせます。

そして曲は夜の中に場面を移し、静寂な音響の中、木管楽器がテーマを担当します。その後、低音楽器によりモティーフが連続して奏され、それをその他の楽器が優しいパッセージで彩ります。

やがて音楽はワルツへ変わります。可愛らしい雰囲気に様変わりした様子を、小物楽器で効果的に意識し演奏してください。つづいて場面は速いテンポへ移り変わり、躍動的な雰囲気となり、クライマックスを導きます。（島田尚美）

島田尚美(Naomi Shimada)

東京音楽大学作曲科卒業、同大学院修了。作曲を西村朗氏に師事。

2009年『コミカル★パレード』、2016年『焔』が、全日本吹奏楽コンクール課題曲に採用された。この2作品からもうかがえるとおり、親しみやすい作品から現代曲まで幅広い作風を持ち、多くのファンに指示されている。

VARIATIONS ON A THEME OF KAGOME KAGOME：Composer: Naomi SHIMADA

There are anecdotes about how the nursery rhyme KAGOMEKAGOME is not just a playful children's song, but that its lyrics are a curse, or that its roots lie in the flag of a foreign country. And during this work, the theme of KAGOMEKAGOME is repeatedly transformed in scenes that range from a quiet atmosphere to a waltz and rhythmic movement.

The gorgeous fortissimo tutti opening and the following exposition proceed in an atmosphere that evokes "child's play". Eventually, against the comical movements of the percussion instruments, the motif is played by a variety of instruments, and the excitement builds in the fun 'matsuri' (festival) section.

Then the tune switches to a scene during the night, and amidst the hushed acoustics the woodwind instruments take over the theme. After that, the motif is played continuously by the bass instruments, while the other instruments add color with gentle passages.

Eventually, the music changes to a waltz. Please play with an awareness of using the small instruments effectively to convey the transformation to a pretty atmosphere. Next, the scene changes to a fast tempo, creating a dynamic atmosphere and leading up to the climax.
