各パートの縦をしっかりと揃えながらも決してスピード感を損なわないようにしてください。勢いが最も重要です。しかしながら、冷静さを失わずに躍動感を持って演奏して頂ければと思います。強弱を明確にし、cresc.とdim.をしっかりと表現できるように気を付けてみてください。8人の音の動きがいっせいに揃う部分もあり、各奏者の息をしっかりと合わせてください。軽快な表現の中にも、芯のあるしっかりとした音色と大きなエネルギーや感情を込めてみてください。ダイナミクスは一定になり過ぎないようにし、バランスを保ちながらも抑揚をしっかりとつけて頂ければと思います。(江原大介)

MOMENT

This piece was commissioned by the Senshu University High School Wind Orchestra. It is a saxophone octet where I have aimed to bring out the instrument's dynamism. Although this is a piece that creates an atmosphere reminiscent of pop music, its composition features a classical style that focuses on the flow of the music in time. It also incorporates elements such as sections that involve doublequartet combinations. This creates a dialogue between different notes that move forward while existing alongside one another. These notes explore the significance of the moment as they continue to propel the music forward without looking back.

PERFORMANCE ADVICEPlease pay attention to the harmony between the different parts without compromising the tempo. While momentum is very important, make sure that you also maintain a sense of dynamism in your performance without losing composure. Vary the intensity accordingly, and articulate the cresc. and dim. well. Make sure that your breathing is in sync in the section where all eight performers are playing their parts in unison. The feeling here should be delicate, but it should be augmented by a solid tonal depth and a good amount of energy and emotion. The dynamics should not be too homogeneous throughout; instead, keep a good balance and add emphases where appropriate.
