夜明け前のアンプロンプチュ

何かの始まりを “夜明け” と表現することがあります。その直前にあるものはエネルギーの蠢きでしょうか。しかし、季節でいうところの “春” のような狂乱的な印象は持ちません。あくまでも静かなものだと思います。熱狂というのは徐々に高まっていくものであって、スタートラインが頂点であることはあり得ないのです。

静かなもの、とは音量や熱量の話ではありません。例えば、端正という言葉に置き換えて良いかと思います。時が流れるとは、一本の糸が少しずつほつれていくようなもの。ドラマティックという形容は似合わないかもしれませんね。淡々とした無窮動の中にある情感を大切に演奏していただければ、作曲者として幸せに思います。

この作品を作曲した一年後に「黄昏アモローソ」という作品を書きました（さらに、それは後に吹奏楽曲として書き改めています）。表裏などと言うつもりはございません。ただ、糸が少しずつほつれるように、私の思考が取り留めもなく散っていくのです。

井澗昌樹(Masaki Itani)

大阪教育大学教養学科芸術専攻音楽コース卒業。同大学大学院芸術文化専攻修了。作曲を澤田博、北川文雄の両氏に師事。

主な作品に、バリトン独唱と管弦楽のためのカンタータ「倭建命 流離譚」、トランペット八重奏曲「四季の奏鳴」など。吹奏楽作品に、「火の断章」（2008年度全日本吹奏楽コンクール課題曲）、「Bye Bye Violet」、「愛の祭壇」など。

AVANT L'AUBE IMPROMPTU

The beginning of something is usually described as its "dawn." Is this dawn that lies directly before an event a rush of energy? My impression of it is nothing like the frenzy of "spring" if we liken it to the different seasons. Rather, I think it should be something subtle and quiet. The crescendo is always preceded by a gradual buildup, and it is impossible for a piece to open at its highest point.

When I say "quiet," I am not referring to volume or intensity. In fact, I think it can be replaced by the word "elegant," like how a single strand of thread starts to fray as time passes. That may not correspond to one's idea of "dramatic." As its composer, I will be delighted if the piece can be performed with an emphasis on its emotional aspect in the midst of perpetual subtle motion.

A year after writing this, I wrote the piece "Twilight Amoroso" (which I later arranged as a piece for the symphonic band). Through the piece, I am not espousing distinctions such as front and back, but rather, I am allowing my thoughts to scatter ceaselessly like a strand of thread that is fraying little by little.
