チェロが白鳥を姿を表現した小品でクラシック曲の中でも特に有名です。

このアレンジでは、チェロに音域が近いBass Clarinetをフィーチャーしています。

楽譜のまま演奏するのもいいですが、原曲に近づけるために、Bass Clarinetは全編オクターブ上げて演奏をしてもいいかと思います。

伴奏パートは、大きな凹凸を付けずに湖に広がる波紋を上手く表現してください。

THE SWAN FROM THE CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS

Camille SaintSaens' Carnival of the Animals, a collection of 14 pieces for chamber ensemble, is one of his most belovedcompositions.

Many arrangers have set the original score for various instrumental combinations and the humorous and beautiful character of the music shines through, regardless of the setting.The Swan was originally set to feature the cello and is probabl y the most famous movement from the suite.

In this arrangement for clarinet quartet, the bass clarinet is given the solo part.

The other members of the quartet portray the gentle ripples created by the majestic bird as it floats over the calm waters.

Most of the solo part remains as SaintSeans composed it, but some parts have been transposed an octave to take advantage of the rich sonorous quality of the bass clarinet.

Performers may wish to switch these passages into the original octave if the desire is tomore closely mirror the composer’s intent, but either rendition is effective.
