パパゲーノ物語 歌劇「魔笛」より パパゲーノのアリア集

内容は魔法や怪物が出てくる大衆受けを狙ったものでしたが、モーツァルトが残した多くのオペラの中で「フィガロの結婚」「ドン・ジョバンニ」とともに3大オペラと呼ばれている代表作です。

実は「魔笛」が完成される前に、他の作曲家が同じ脚本でオペラを発表して一足先に成功を収めてしまったため、モーツァルトはストーリーを途中から変更して善玉と悪玉を逆転させてしまいました。

そのため元の脚本ではありえなかった数々の素晴らしい名曲が生まれました。

「魔笛」には魅力あるキャラクターが数多く登場しますが、ここでは脇役ながらモーツァルトの全オペラ中最高のコメディアンの「パパゲーノ」にスポットを当てた選曲とし、演奏中語りが入る「音楽物語」として構成しました。

語りについては、それぞれ番号が書いてあるところで別紙の台本を語ってください。

もし語りを入れずに演奏する場合は、その小節はカットして演奏をしてください。

The work premiered only months before the composer died and has become one of Mozart’s most loved operas, a long with "Don Giovanni" and "The Marriage of Figaro”.

Written in the
popular “singspiel” style of the time that mixed song and spoken dialogue, the libretto is based on well known Germanic folktales and which ensured its popularity with the average person living in Vienna in the late 18th Century.
Many of Mozart’s most memorable arias can be found in this opera.

In this arrangement for clarinet quartet with narrator, Hisashi Yosino has chosen arias sung by Papageno, one of the central characters of the opera who endures many trials and tribulations before ultimately winning the hand of his true love, Pagagena.
The narration in this collection serves to link the arias together and creates a “story” for the audience.

Care must be taken to ensure the spoken text appears at the appropriate moments indicated in the score but a satisfying performance can be achieved without narration.
