高校2年時に、玉川学園の同級生、真期千尋の依頼によって、まず第3楽章が書かれ、ピッコロで初演された(従って全曲演奏する場合も、ピッコロ持ち替えが望ましい)。
翌年春に第2楽章をモーツァルト「恋とはどんなものかしら」の変奏曲として書き、かなり後になって大森義和が初演している。
そして秋にソナタ形式の学習として、ハイドンの主題8小節によって第1楽章をピアノの為に書き、直ちにフルート用に編曲して、富永順一が初演した。
即ち、楽章を追う毎に、技法の稚拙さが見られるのはそのせいである。
当時敬愛していた林光先生の始めてのレッスンに第3楽章を持って行き、一ヶ所だけ16分音符の連鉤を引き忘れ、それを書き加えてくださったことを、嬉しく憶えている。(青島広志)

However people would love to play Mozart’s sonatas on Flute, there are only a few original pieces written in his childhood. It seems to be a raison d' tre of this piece.
At first the third movement was written for my classmate from Tamagawa Gakuen High school, Chihiro Maki, and premiered with the piccolo (Thus it is preferable to be performed by the piccolo for this movement). In the spring after, the second movement was composed as a variation of Mozart’s Voi Che Sapete, which was premiered by Yoshikazu Omori after quite a while. In the following fall, the first movement was composed for the piano from Haydon’s eight-bar motif as my sonata study. It was immediately arranged for the flute, and premiered by Junichi Tominaga. There are some immaturities found as the movements proceed, and it owes to the background of this composition.
I brought this third movement to Mr. Hikaru Hayashi’s lesson. There was a beam I forgot to draw on one spot, and he penciled it in to my score. I still cherishingly recall that moment. (Hiroshi Aoshima)
