ジュエリー・アイス -河が生み出す氷の宝石-（通常編成版）

ジュエリーアイス…北海道十勝の観光名所で、十勝川を覆いつくす氷が太平洋に流れ出し、河口の豊頃町大津海岸に打ち上げられる透明な氷の塊が太陽の光を受け美しく輝く自然現象です。
作品委嘱のお話をいただいた際、本別高校のある十勝にまつわる題材を求め、最終的に「ジュエリーアイス」に辿り着き、作曲に取り掛かりました。

十勝川の水が氷結し、大津海岸を目指して徐々に下っていき、最終的には太平洋の波にもまれながら美しいジュエリーアイスが出来上がっていく様子を私なりの音楽表現で描いています。
（ちなみに、本別町を流れる本別川も十勝川水系で、ジュエリーアイスを形作る重要な川です）

自然が織りなす美しい現象を音楽で感じていただけたら幸いです。（下田和輝）

●演奏上の留意点
オプショナル楽器を除き最少18人から演奏が可能です。

18小節目のWithout tempoでは、パートによっては自由に演奏する指示をしています。音の高さに関しては楽譜に書かれてある音の高さを守って演奏していただきたいですが、基本的にどんなフレーズを演奏しても構いません。
例えば、[1st Clarinet]パートの場合、記譜音で下からソ、ド、レ、ミ♭、ファ、ソ、ラ♭、シ♭、ドの音の高さを守っていただければ、どのようなリズムのフレーズを演奏していただいても構わない、という意味です。

曲中に出てくるTriangleとFinger Cymbalsに関して、打楽器パート以外の殆どの管楽器にも指定しております。これはできる限り多くのTriangleとFinger Cymbalsが鳴ることを理想としているためですが、もしTriangleとFinger Cymbalsが複数無い場合は演奏しなくても構いません。ただし、吹奏楽全体で最低でも1つのTriangleは演奏してください。

また、112小節目からのTriangleとFinger Cymbalsは、符幹が書かれていない音符はどのタイミングで演奏しても構いません（他パートとタイミングを合わせる必要はありません）。ただし、四分休符直後の音符や符幹が書かれている音符は楽譜通りに演奏してください。
Trumpet及びTromboneのハーマンミュートを用意できない場合は、ストレートミュートで代用して構いません。

下田和輝(Kazuki Shimoda)

1992年1月14日、岩手県洋野町生まれ。

幼少のころからフュージョンやスムースジャズをはじめさまざまな音楽に触れ、小学校4年生から学校のクラブの金管バンドに所属。コルネットを担当。

洋野町立種市中学校では吹奏楽部に所属し、トランペットを、進学先の岩手県立久慈高校では吹奏楽部でユーフォニアム・学指揮・副学指揮を担当。

中学生のころ、作曲に興味を持ち始める。高校卒業後、作曲を一から学ぶため上京。

平成29年度 第50回JBA「下谷賞」受賞。

現在、吹奏楽の作曲・編曲を中心に活動をしている。

This piece written in the early summer of 2022 was commissioned by and dedicated to the Honbetsu High School Wind Ensemble (Hokkaido, Japan; advisor & director: Mikio Kawanishi), and it premiered at the 67th Obihiro Regional Brass Band Competition held in July of the same year.

The subject of this piece is “jewelry ice,” a natural phenomenon in which ice covering the Tokachi River, a sightseeing spot in Tokachi, Hokkaido (where the Honbetsu High School is located), flows out into the Pacific Ocean, with the transparent ice washing up on the shores of the Otsu Coast in Toyokoro, where the mouth of the river is, and shimmering beautifully in the sunlight.

By drawing on my own musical expression, I have sought to depict how the water of the Tokachi River freezes into ice, which then gradually drifts down toward the Otsu Coast, eventually forming beautiful pieces of jewelry ice as the ice is caught in the waves of the Pacific Ocean.

I hope you can experience the beauty of natural phenomena through music.

This piece can be performed with a minimum of 18 players, excluding the optional parts.

In the “without tempo” section of the 18th bar, you may play any phrase you like using the written pitch.

Ideally, wind instrument players should play as many of the triangle and finger cymbals parts as possible by switching between instruments, but if you do not have multiple musical instruments, please perform with at least one triangle.

In addition, notes without stems from the 112nd bar may be played at any time, but notes immediately after quarter rests and notes with stems must be played as they are written in the score.

If you do not have harmon mutes for trumpets and trombones, you may use straight mutes instead.
