鳳蝶

この曲はその本能寺の変に感銘を受けて作曲されたものであり、主に3つの場面からなり立っています。

第1場面は暗闇の中で忍び寄る刺客の様子を描いています。冒頭怪しげな低音群のフレーズで始まり、信長のテーマへと受け継がれます。

第2場面は信長が襲撃を受ける瞬間を描いています。曲はテンポも上がり勇壮なメロディやその対比を通して、事件の重みと緊迫感を表現しています。

第3場面は本能寺が炎に包まれる様子とともに、家臣に裏切られた信長の絶望的な心情と光秀の胸中を表現しています。調を変え表情を変え再び信長のテーマが現れ、絶望感や哀しみが音楽の中に満ち溢れています。（樽屋雅徳）

樽屋雅徳(Masanori Taruya)

1978年千葉県銚子市生まれ。武蔵野音楽大学音楽学部作曲学科卒業。佐藤博、宮本良樹各氏に師事。

フランスで吹奏楽曲「Ardent Overture」を出版。代表作として「絵のない絵本」「民衆を導く自由の女神」「マゼランの未知なる大陸への挑戦」「ラザロの復活」「マードックからの最後の手紙」などがある。

全国の吹奏楽団やマーチングバンドからの委嘱も数多く、その作品の多くが国内外問わず広く演奏され、日本でもっとも人気のある作曲家のひとりである。また、作曲・編曲の傍ら、吹奏楽指導やコンクール等の審査員、執筆活動などでも多くの成果を挙げている。

2004年 2018年まで銚子市立銚子高等学校の音楽監督を務めマーチングコンテストで全国大会へ、吹奏楽コンクールでは東関東大会、東日本大会へと導く。

現在はベルモンテウィンドオーケストラの指揮者・音楽監督を務め、指導者としても高い評価を受けている。

The Honnoji Incident occurred on the 2nd day of the 6th month of the 10th year of the Tensho era (June 21st, 1582 AD). This was the most significant incident in Japanese history.

Akechi Mitushide assembled a large army of 13,000 soldiers and sprung a surprise attack on Oda Nobunaga, who was staying at Honnoji temple in Kyoto. Having realized that there was no point in putting up resistance that would be brushed aside, Nobunaga set fire to the temple and committed suicide.

I wrote this song based on the way that I was deeply moved by the Honnoji Incident. It is comprised of three key scenes.

The first scene portrays the assassins sneaking up on the temple in the dark. The song begins with an eerie phrase of low notes before transitioning into a tune that represents Nobunaga.

The second scene portrays the moment when Nobunaga is ambushed. The tempo increases, and the significance and tension of this incident are expressed through the magestic melody and its contrast.

The third scene captures the sight of Honnoji temple going up in flames, as well as the feelings of despair of Nobunaga as the betrayed and Mitsuhide as the traitor. They key changes, and Nobunaga’s tune reemerges to alter the song’s expression, as the music becomes filled with hopelessness and sadness.
