福島弘和(Hirokazu Fukushima)

東京音楽大学卒業。同大学研究科修了。

オーボエを浜道晁、作曲を有馬礼子の各氏に師事する。現在、吹奏楽やオーケストラなど作編曲活動をする。また、演奏にパフォーマンスやコメディーを加えたアンサンブルポアールで演奏活動をする。

1999年朝日作曲賞、2003年下谷作曲賞、2007,2012,2013年下谷奨励賞、2010年日本管打吹奏楽学会アカデミー賞作曲部門など受賞する。

2001年国民文化祭、2008年全国高校総合文化祭の創作音楽を手掛けている。

21世紀の吹奏楽「響宴」会員。主な作品：「ラッキードラゴン」「シンフォニエッタ祈りの鐘」ほか

PULSATILLA CERNUA～WHICH FLOWER LOVED BY KENJI MIYAZAWA：Composer: Hirokazu FUKUSHIMA

This piece was commissioned by the Adachi Junior Brass Band and premiered in January 2010.

“Pulsatilla Cernua” was composed based on the fairy tale of the same name written by Kenji Miyazawa.

The piece unfolds according to the narrative of the story and comprises three sections. The first section depicts the “Pulsatilla Cernua” rustling gently as it sways in the wind, the second section is faster and portrays skylarks soaring high into the sky and chirping loudly, and the final part features the “Pulsatilla Cernua” scattering as the skylarks nestle against the flowers and sing calmly.

While the piece is extremely simple and for that very reason difficult to perform in some ways, I hope that the conductor, musicians, as well as the audience can interact in such a way that these “honest emotions” can be brought to the fore.

As the scattering of flowers is inextricable to the spreading of seeds for the future, please perform this piece in a heartwarming manner, and not a melancholic one.
